The .30/06 is a lot more powerful than the 6.5×55 and is certainly more than you really need for deer hunting. The 6.5×55 can be used on just about any North American game except the big bears, and it kicks a whole lot less than the ’06. If you don’t like recoil, the Swede is the right gun for you.
