I haven’t trusted the Gorton’s Fisherman since I was about 10 years old and a fish stick was just a means of ingesting more ketchup. I’ve also written before that I do not eat fast food fish because I don’t know what kind of fish it really is, nor do I want to. However, if you’d like to be part of potential history this Saturday—or if you completely scratch out on the water, thus squashing your taste for fried fish—swing by any Long John Silver’s between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. and get some fried tilapia or whatever they use and fries on the house. It’s all part of a marketing ploy to pull off a world-record free fish fry.
From the story on BizJournals.com:
“Over the coming months, Long John Silver’s will announce special events and offers designed to surprise and delight our loyal customers and allow them to enjoy — or perhaps rediscover — the delicious seafood they love and crave,” Mike Kern, Long John Silver’s CEO, said.
All Long John Silver’s locations are encouraged to participate in this national offer, which is limited to one customer per store, per visit, and is good for dine-in or carryout.
You’re welcome, but if you get a pec fin or gill raker stuck in your throat, don’t blame me.
